HB Unveils Hyperloupe Technology For Diamonds Up To 6000 Carat

HB, a leader in diamond transformation, announces the launch of its upgraded HB Hyperloupe technology, setting a new standard in the analysis, marking, and preparation of rough diamonds up to 6000 carats. Exclusively developed for HB’s internal usage, this breakthrough technology will not be sold or licensed to other parties, securing a unique manufacturing advantage in the industry.
HB proudly unveils three breakthrough devices from its latest Hyperloupe series, aimed at addressing challenges associated with large and complex diamonds:
- HB Hyperloupe Pro: Specifically designed for legacy stones, this technology can analyze and reveal the complete internal characteristics of rough diamonds up to 6000 carats, enabling detailed mapping for enhanced traceability and informed planning.
- HB Hyperloupe Mark: This innovative device allows HB to mark large diamonds up to 6000 carats, preparing them for precise lasering and cutting. Previously, the diamond industry faced limitations in sawing and cutting very large stones due to the need for lasers capable of marking such substantial sizes. The Hyperloupe Mark resolves this issue by enabling accurate marking, paving the way for the diamond’s transformation without risking damage to its natural form.
- HB Hyperloupe Scan: This scanning device creates a reference toward the outer contour of even the most enormous stones, enabling high-precision matching between the inner defects of a stone and its outer surface.
This unique combination of interlinked technologies can capture the complete DNA of a rough diamond up to 6000 carats and form the interface toward other processes down and up the value chain, enabling the highest value retention.
Precision for Maximum Value
The HB Hyperloupe Pro, HB Hyperloupe Mark, and HB Hyperloupe Scan offer transformative solutions for handling exceptionally large diamonds, such as those from Botswana’s Karowe Mine. These advancements support HB Antwerp’s commitment to maximizing each diamond’s value, ensuring traceability and efficiency at every stage of the value chain.
The Hyperloupe Pro’s precision in identifying unique internal characteristics, such as cracks, inclusions, and impurities, allows HB Antwerp to make informed decisions that maximize the diamond’s yield without compromising the rough. With Hyperloupe Mark, these insights translate into precise markings that guide the cutting and polishing process.
HB’s technological advancements are fully deployed in Botswana. These tools allow Botswana to retain and enhance the value of its natural resources, empowering local communities through economic growth and skill development.
“The HB Hyperloupe series is more than just technology; it’s a means for Botswana to fully capitalize on its unique resources,” said Omogolo Mathumo, Communications Manager at HB Botswana. “This innovation marks a milestone in how we approach diamond transformation, bringing direct economic benefits to Botswana.”
Shai de-Toledo, co-founder of HB: “Implementing this technology in Botswana allows Batswana to lead the local manufacturing of large stones in an unprecedented way, positioning Botswana as a global powerhouse in diamond transformation.”
